Silverfish

Identification: Silverfish may appear white, gray, brown, or silver (metallic) in color. They get their name from the tapered, fish-like ends of their bodies. Silverfish grow to be about a half inch to an inch long and have three long bristles at the end of their abdomen.

Behavior & Diet: Silverfish prefer dark and damp areas. You’ll likely find them in basements, bathrooms, and kitchens. They especially like paper and clothing, as they feed on things like books and linen as well as other deceased insects.
